Piping

It can be a narrow tape, which is used to decorate edges and seams. Or it is used on pockets (=pocket pockets) - here the pocket openings are sewn with 5-7 mm wide fabric strips - or on waistbands inside, where the end of the fabric is "nicely" hidden.
